5-Day Pilgrimage | Register

67 miles over five days of walking. Journey begins in Rochester, Indiana. Route includes campus of Culver Academies, Lake Maxinkuckee, the second largest natural lake in Indiana, the Tippecanoe River, and Potawatomi historic sites.

Monday, August 21

  • Transportation from campus to hotel
  • Join the 14-day pilgrims
  • Mass at Ancilla Domini Chapel in Donaldson, Indiana
  • Dinner at Lindenwood Retreat Center
  • Overnight at hotel

Tuesday, August 22

  • Breakfast at hotel
  • Transfer to trail
  • 17 mile walking day
  • Hike across the Tippecanoe River
  • Lunch at Culver Marina at Lake Maxinkuckee
  • Transfer to hotel for rest
  • Mass at Culver Academies Memorial Chapel
  • Dinner at Culver Academies Woodcraft Dining Hall
  • Overnight at hotel

Wednesday, August 23

  • Breakfast at hotel
  • Transfer to trail
  • 15 mile walking day
  • Visit statue of Chief Menominee near the headwaters of the Yellow River
  • Lunch at Pretty Lake, Plymouth, IN
  • Transfer to hotel for rest
  • Mass and dinner at Swan Lake Resort
  • Overnight at hotel

  • Join the 14-day, 5-day pilgrims
  • 17 mile walking day
  • Lunch at Potato Creek State Park
  • Transfer to hotel for rest
  • Mass at St. Pius X Church, Granger, Indiana
  • Dinner at St. Joseph Farm to honor the Congregation of Holy Cross and the global impact of the brothers, sisters and priests.
  • Overnight at hotel

Friday, August 25

Dahnke BallroomPremium hospitality spaces at Notre Dame Stadium

  • 16 mile walking day
  • Hike through Potato Creek State Park
  • Lunch and live entertainment at Howard Park in downtown South Bend, Indiana
  • Transfer to hotel for rest
  • Mass at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart
  • Dinner and cocktails provided in the new premium hospitality spaces of the Notre Dame Stadium. Pilgrims may invite one guest.
  • Watch Rudy on the stadium's new video board
  • Overnight at hotel

Saturday, August 26

  • 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. Complimentary parking and transportation from campus (White Field)
  • 8:30 a.m. Pilgrim blessing at Howard Park
    • Join the 14-day, 5-day, and 3-day pilgrims
  • 8:45 a.m. Begin walk along the St. Joseph River
    • Hike through South Bend, Holy Cross College, and Saint Mary's College
    • Visit the graves of Rev. Edward Frederick Sorin, C.S.C. and the Brothers in the Holy Cross Community Cemetery
    • Light a candle at the Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes
    • Tour the Log Chapel and Basilica of the Sacred Heart
  • 11:30 a.m. Celebrate Mass with University President Rev. John I. Jenkins, C.S.C. presiding
  • 175th Anniversary picnic following mass
