Day 13
South Bend to Notre Dame - 3 miles
Partly Cloudy with a High of 76°
Finale: Thousands gather to walk the final three miles of the Notre Dame Trail. We meet at Howard Park for a blessing and remarks. The procession follows the St. Joseph River and along portions of the East Bank Trail. We visit the campuses of Holy Cross College and Saint Mary’s College, visit the graves of Fr. Sorin and several of the original Brothers, pray at the Grotto, and visit the Log Chapel. We will then participate in the 175th Anniversary Celebration Mass and Picnic on campus.
Hope
View Fr. Sean McGraw’s reflection on Hope

All is swallowed up in victory. He has nothing but gifts to offer. It remains only for us to find how even the cross can be borne as a gift.”

Prayer
Loving and merciful God, your love overcomes even death. Help me to live in the hope that You can transform me and my life to reflect Your love more deeply. Show me how to bring Your gift of hope to the hopeless around me. Amen.

The Journey
August 13-26, 2017
In the tradition of Father Sorin’s inspirational journey and intrepid spirit—our Notre Dame spirit—we will retrace his journey from Vincennes to Notre Dame. We will travel those miles in a collective renewal of our determination, to rededicate ourselves to Notre Dame’s mission to seek God, study the world, and serve humanity—to boldly lead the way into the new chapters of our story.
